Workshops on the Farm

kidsworkshopStony Kill offers workshops for children and adults throughout the year. Our classes are taught by retired teachers and local crafters. Please check out our current schedule below. Proceeds from our classes go to the Stony Kill Foundation and aid in feeding and maintaining our animals.


Two classes this Saturday, July 8, 11 am and 1 pm
This form of Tai Chi is adaptable to all levels of fitness and health, as well as being suitable for ages 14 years and up. Learn the foundation principles of Tai Chi, improve your posture and reduce stress and anxiety with this graceful form of movement.

Classes will be taught by Stacey Backenroth and held by the gardens at the Manor House. Bring a ground cover (blanket, yoga mat, etc.) and a small pillow to sit on the ground. You may also bring your own chair if you do not wish to sit on the ground. Please wear comfortable, relaxed clothing. Shoes optional if you wish to wiggle your toes in the grass!

Join us for one class or come for both! $15 suggested donation. Don’t forget to enjoy the animals by visiting the barn and our walking trails nearby while you are here!






Interactive Storywalk® with Yoga lesson

September 9 from 10 to 11 am at the Manor House
Stony Kill Foundation introduces our latest Storywalk® featuring children’s author Brian Russo’s Yoga Bunny. The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. Storywalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson. Yoga instructor Kathy Martin will be guide you along our perennial gardens reading about Yoga Bunnies adventures with her friends by while she teaches yoga poses illustrated throughout the book. Bring a towel or a yoga mat if you like or try your poses on the grass.

Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt

September 23 from 10 to 11 am
Bring your family to the Woodland Trail to participate in a Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt! While walking the trail and enjoying the scenery, capture special memories to take home and cherish! Come with matching bandana or even a team color and post a scavenger hunt picture to our Facebook or Instagram page, Stony Kill Foundation, using #hvrambleSKF. Finish your day with a picnic lunch while enjoying the historic landmark of Stony Kill Farm! A scavenger hunt list will be available the day of the event. A prize will be awarded to the most creative family photo and posted on our website.
