Workshops on the Farm
Stony Kill offers workshops for children and adults throughout the year. Our classes are taught by retired teachers and local crafters. Please check out our current schedule below. Proceeds from our classes go to the Stony Kill Foundation and aid in feeding and maintaining our animals.
Mozzarella Cheese making with Stacey Lynch Adnams
February 3 from 11 am – 12 pm
ages 7 – 12, Free admission
Learn about the process of making mozzarella cheese from start to finish. Students will learn how to milk our visiting cow Shirley and how the grass she eats becomes the milk we drink. Bring your appetite, we’ll be tasting our homemade cheese!
Family Game Night at the Farm
February 2, 9, 16, & 23 from
6:30 to 8:30 pm, Free for all ages
Leave your electronic devices at the door and join us in the barn classroom for a fun night of board games and puzzles. Bring your own or find a game in our collection. Light refreshments will be available for purchase.
Bird Watching and Animal ID on the
January 1 at 10 am at the Sierra Trail off Red Schoolhouse Road – RESCHEDULED during our Winter on the Farm event: Feb. 10 or 24, 12 pm meet at the greenhouse for a walk along the farm trail and lane
Start 2018 off with a walk along one of Stony Kill Farm’s trails. Join leaders Paul Adams and Tom Amisson for a walk along the Sierra Trail and learn about native animals to our region. Bring along your binoculars to spot our resident Red Tail Hawk and other woodland birds. Dress warmly and boots are recommended. Register today!
