Your Garden Plan – ONLINE WORKSHOP

Join Rob Cohen as he Illuminates a personalized path for participants to enjoy the 2021 growing season. Our discussion will include the basics of planning your garden, how to get started and what to grow. We’ll outline the challenges of garden planning in the new year, key skills needed for success and gardening techniques that produce positive, sustainable results. There will be plenty of time allotted for questions during and after the workshop. Workshop is limited to 20 participants with a suggested donation of $5 toward the program here. 

Rob Cohen is a farmer who practices sustainable agriculture and a technology consultant focused on helping non-profit organizations leverage technology. His lifelong interest in science, history, and understanding how stuff works shapes his unique approach to staying connected to nature while living and working in an increasingly unnatural environment.


Is Raising Backyard Chickens Right for you? – ONLINE WORKSHOP

This workshop will provide insight into the commitment involved with having a backyard flock. Participants will receive information about where to find local ordinances regarding chicken keeping, the equipment and materials needed for keeping both chicks and chickens, basic care instructions for chicks and chickens, where and how to purchase chicks/chickens, and suggestions and insight about various housing options and/or breeds appropriate for this area. There will be time at the end of the presentation for questions. We are excited to offer this workshop and hope you will consider making a suggested donation of $5 toward the program here.

Kim Pennock is a backyard chicken enthusiast, a Stony Kill educator and poultry advisor. She loves leading the poultry section of the Stony Ground 4H club as it gives her an excuse to learn and share about chickens and their care.
